MISSION + HISTORY.

The Asian Professionals Association of Southwest Florida (APASWFL) represents Asian professionals and creates opportunities for economic, social, intellectual, and cultural enrichment for its members and the broader Southwest Florida community.

Founded in 2000 as a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, APASWFL has spent over two decades dedicated to building a supportive and inclusive environment for Asian professionals in Collier, Lee, and Charlotte Counties. We are committed to creating opportunities for our members to thrive and succeed, while contributing to the growth and prosperity of our diverse communities. Our history is rooted in the spirit of fellowship, leadership, and cultural celebration — driving us to continuously support and advocate for the interests of Asian professionals and the communities they serve.

Goals

1.

To connect Asian professionals across Southwest Florida with one another and with the broader community in order to foster meaningful relationships and business opportunities.

2.

To celebrate and preserve Asian cultural heritage through events like AsiaFest, cultural performances, and community gatherings that enrich Southwest Florida.

3.

To provide a welcoming environment for members to network, exchange information, and support one another's professional and personal growth.

4.

To invest in the next generation by awarding college scholarships to outstanding Asian-American high school seniors in Collier, Lee, and Charlotte Counties.

5.

To bring diverse groups of Asian-Americans together on issues affecting their communities, advocating for inclusion and representation throughout Southwest Florida.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

APASWFL understands that sometimes there are more important things than just professional networking. Strengthening our community is at the heart of everything we do. That is why we remain actively involved with local organizations, public agencies, and cultural institutions throughout Southwest Florida.

APASWFL is actively involved with and connected to:

  • Collier, Lee & Charlotte County local governments
  • Southwest Florida nonprofit and cultural organizations
  • Local school districts and universities including FGCU
  • Filipino American Association of Southwest Florida
  • Asian-American community groups throughout the region
  • Local business chambers and professional associations
